Instructions
The items in this quiz are simply criteria that can be used to check the quality of a rubric.
1. Carefully review the Equivalent Fractions task and the rubric. Consider how well they are aligned based on your new knowledge of rubric.
2. Complete the quiz. Once you have responded to all items, question 9 is required, click the submit quiz button located at the end of the quiz.
3. Minimum acceptable points for quiz 7/10.
Equivalent Fractions Task:
Content Standards:
I. Write equivalent fractions
II. Communicate mathematical ideas
Task: You will use your fraction circles to identify what positions on the chart can be filled in with equivalent fractions. For each equivalent fraction you find, write in the fraction on your chart. After you have filled in the chart, write any of the patterns you found.
As an example, the question, “Can you make 1/2 with fourths” has been recorded on the chart as “2/4.” If the answer to a "Can you make..." question is “No,” put an “X” in that square.
Rubric:
Criteria | 3 | 2 | 1 |
Equivalent Fraction Chart |
All equivalent fractions are filled in the chart |
The equivalent fraction chart is missing some (4-5) fractions | The equivalent fraction chart is missing more than 6 fractions |
Pattern |
All patterns are written using an equal sign to separate the fractions |
All patterns are written, but didn’t use an equal sign to separate the fractions |
Missing patterns or patterns are incorrect |
Explanation | Explanation of one the patterns is clear and contains math vocabulary | Clear explanation of the fraction pattern, but does not use math vocabulary | Explanation is incorrect or hard to understand |
